  1. Psalms.4.1
1Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved my distress; show me grace and hear my prayer.
  2. 2How long, O men, will my honor be maligned? How long will you love vanity and seek after lies? Selah
  3. 3Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for Himself; the LORD hears when I call to Him.
  4. 4Be angry, yet do not sin; on your bed, search your heart and be still. Selah
  5. 5Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.
  6. 6Many ask, “Who can show us the good?” Shine the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.
  7. 7You have filled my heart with more joy than when grain and new wine abound.
  8. 8I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
  9. 1How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
  10. 2How long must I wrestle in my soul, with sorrow in my heart each day? How long will my enemy dominate me?
  11. 3Consider me and respond, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death,
  12. 4lest my enemy say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes rejoice when I fall.
  13. 5But I have trusted in Your loving devotion; my heart will rejoice in Your salvation.
  14. 6I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.
  15. 1Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
  16. 2I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
  17. 3As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
  18. 4Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
  19. 5The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
  20. 6The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
  21. 7I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
  22. 8I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
  23. 9Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
  24. 10For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
  25. 11You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
  26. 1The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—whom shall I dread?
  27. 2When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh, my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.
  28. 3Though an army encamps around me, my heart will not fear; though a war breaks out against me, I will keep my trust.
  29. 4One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
  30. 5For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high upon a rock.
  31. 6Then my head will be held high above my enemies around me. At His tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
  32. 7Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call; be merciful and answer me.
  33. 8My heart said, “Seek His face.” Your face, O LORD, I will seek.
  34. 9Hide not Your face from me, nor turn away Your servant in anger. You have been my helper; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation.
  35. 10Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
  36. 11Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path, because of my oppressors.
  37. 12Do not hand me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.
  38. 13Still I am certain to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
  39. 14Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!
  40. 1I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry.
